Clamps

A Clamp can be defined as a device that is used to hold objects together firmly. A Clamp helps to prevent any movement caused because of the action of inward pressure. Often some Clamps are used for temporary purpose's and some Clamps have a specific utility in the specific field.

Types of Clamps
Clamps can be classified on the basis of the purposes they are used for.Temporary Clamps and Permanent Claps are the basic two categories of the Clamps, based on its usage.
Temporary Clamps :- Some of the temporary Clamps are Wood Clamp, Band Clamp, F-Clamp or Bar Clamp, Bench Clamp, C-Clamp or G- Clamp, Hand Screw Clamp, Magnetic Clamp, Pipe Clamp, Toggle Clamp, Speed Clamp, Set Screw Clamp.

A Bench Clamp is used for grasping objects to a bench top.
A Cardellini Clamp is used to mount motion picture lights. Cardellini Clamp is styled on the basis of a Jaw.
A Gripe is a Clamp which is particularly used for grasping strakes intact during the construction of Clinker Boat.
A Slash Clamp is a long form of the Bar Clamp.
A Toolmakers Clamp is made completely of steel. The Toolmakers Clamp is a smaller and precise version of the Hand Screw.

Permanent Clamps :- Some of the permanent Clamps are Hose Clamp and Medical Clamp.

Hose Clamps :- A Hose Clamp can simply be defined as a device, that is used to affix and seal a pipe onto a fitting. One of the primary target of Hose Clamps is to make sure that a strong seal exists between the pipe and its fitting, so as to disallow the fluid from evading. Hose Clamps are widely used in automotive and home applications.

Medical Clamps :- Medical Clamps are used for medical purposes such as after the dialysis needles and tubes are removed, the Medical Clamp is used for applying direct pressure to the openings to blood vessels. For this purpose the Medical clamps are provided with a smooth head.

Other Clamps :- Wheel Clamp, Pandrol Clip Clamp and Tube Clamp are few other types of Clamps.

Wheel Clamps :- The fundamental reason for developing the Wheel Clamps was to stop vehicles from moving. Generally Wheel Clamps are used for security reasons, like stopping a vehicle from being stolen or cracking down on illegal parking etc.

Pandrol Clip :- Pandrol clips are widely used in railways. Pandrol Clips are used to fasten the rails to the underlying baseplate's.
