The great senses of human like hearing, vision, heat and cold receptors, touch etc. are subjective which means that they are not very trustworthy nor faithful. These human senses cannot be used in measurement and for that measuring tools are there for correct and accurate results. These measuring tools are many in number which are used at large for carrying out different types of measurement for example measuring height etc.
If we take another example for measuring the height of mountain instead of guessing like the mountain is 5 thousand feet tall or it is 3 thousand feet tall, scientist have made meter stick for the proper measurement of height. With the help of these measuring tools, proper measurement of mountains could be easily calculated. There are many other tools available for measuring like interferometers, clocks etc. Some other tools are there like spectrometers which are used for the measurement of wavelength etc. In the similar fashion there are many other tools like voltmeters, magnetometer, power meters, gravimeters, thermometers, bolometer and so on. All of these measuring tools, which offer great value, are easily available at competitive prices. We can also take an example of caliper, which is an another measuring tool that is widely used for the purpose of measuring the length of two bilateral different sides. Capliers are usually having different facing points i.e. outward and inward which looks like a compass. Its tip is generally adjusted to fit across the points. Furthermore, the ruler of caplier is used to carry out the whole procedure. The invention of computers has been a revolutionizing step in measuring data with high accuracy and speed. The computers has solved our need of data storage and analysis. The results produced by computers are highly reliable as they does not require involvement of human beings. |
