Rakes

Rakes comprise of a huge handle attached with a row of arched metal or wooden teeth. Rakes are used to collect dry leaves and dust particles. Rakes are used to assemble fodder and food grains into a heap. Rakes are commonly used in agricultural and rural areas. Rakes are used to clean field, ground or garden area. Rakes are also used for pulling and scattering the mud or soil in agricultural area.

One of the most commonly used rakes in the 19th century was a horse-drawn rakes. Today such rakes are no longer used. Side-delivery rakes are used for gathering fodder by a rolling procedure. This type of rakes are modern and sophisticated. Finger wheel type rakes comprise of wheels attached with metals teeth. Such rakes are fixed along with revolving bars. Least used rakes are the one like dump rake which forms piles of stock or grains at one place.
